Diabetes occurs when the body can no longer use certain foods in the normal way. The effect is that blood sugar levels are caused to rise. There are both long and short term effects if diabetes is not managed properly. Diabetes can be managed through diet and exercise, tablets or insulin injections depending on the type of diabetes that you have.

The team of dedicated nurses at BDNH are all skilled in the management of diabetes and keep up to date on all aspects of diabetes care. We also have a qualified diabetes educator who can provide expert advice and management strategies to assist you with the ongoing management of your diabetes.
