Our approach to volunteer involvement is to always treat volunteers as equally and fairly as we treat our paid staff.
The primary role for volunteers at BDNH is to transport podiatry clients from their home, drive them to the Podiatry clinic and return them to their home after their appointment. Volunteers use Ballarat District Nursing and Healthcare cars.
As an integral part of the team, volunteers will:
Be valued for their input, and called upon for their opinions.
Be consulted on all matters that substantially affect the performance of their duties.
Have the opportunity to effect change in BDNH through their suggestions and involvement in program planning.
Be expected to provide feedback and input to their supervisor - Podiatry Receptionist regarding their work with clients.
Key skills we look for in our volunteers include:
- The ability to communicate well with clients.
- Well groomed with a caring and professional attitude.
- Respect for the rights, dignity and culture of others.
- Successful completion of a Driver Competency test and must hold a current Victorian driver's license.
